chip_init: Chip initialization. No input argument. No return value.
tuner_set: Initializes the tuner and configures the center frequency of the carrier and the bandwidth of the tuner LPF. Inputs£º1.tuner I2C port;2.tuner I2C device address;3.tuner type(0-AVL2012,others-reserved);4.tuner input carrier frequency(in MHz);5.tuner LPF bandwidths(in MHz, double sides). No return value
hot_rst: Chip hot reset. no input arguments. No returns
ad_smp: Chip embedded data sampling. Inputs: 1.Sampling type(0-AD output£¬1-equalization output)¡£Outputs are written into file "hi_ad_smp"£¬2048 samples in total
Panel for Trace is shown in Figure 9-3

Signal Basic: Show basic modulation&coding information after channel lock achived, etc. which standard(DVB-S2¡¢DVB-S or DirecTV)¡¢modulation¡¢coderate¡¢frame length(normal or short)¡¢pilot(on or off)¡¢CCM or VCM; When channel not locked, "unkown standard" will be displayed
Panel for Monitor is shown in Figure 9-4

Lock Time: Time elapsed from chip reset to fec_ok, in ms, updates on each reset
Symbol Error: Symbol rate(SR) deviation between actual SR and SR set by BCS, in kHz, Postive value means actual SR is larger than set SR
Carrier Error: Carrier frequency divation between actual value and the one set by BCS, in kHz, Postive value means adctual value is the larger one
Signal Intensity: Signal intensity indicator
Signal Quality: Signal quality indicator£¬to be implemented
C/N: Carrier to Noise ratio, in dB. Valid only channel lock is achived, otherwise -10.0 is displayed
Error Rate: Bit error rate, Valid only channel lock is achived, otherwise 0.5 is displayed
Panel for Setting is shown in Figure 9-5

Timer Period: Time period for auto update, which means display for Indicator/Monitor etc will be refreshed periodically, in second
DUT Network: Set up for DUT board IP address, chip I2C port, chip I2C device address£¬as well as I2C speed(in kHz). Notes: soc_server should be started ahead on DUT to support Ethernet-to-I2C transfer
Auto Update: Enable auto update
Stop Auto Update: Stop auto update
Panel for Segment is shown in Figure 9-6

1£®Connect power cable,RF signal cable, UART cable, Ethernet cable. Power up
2£®Setup DUT board IP address via UART£¬start soc_server
3£® Run HiChannel£¬Setup DUT board IP address/chip I2C port/chip I2C device address/I2C speed via Menu HiChannel/Setting/DUT Network.
4£®Click button chip_init
5£®Click button tuner_set£¬type in tuner I2C port/tuner I2C device address/tuner type/RF carrier frequency/Tuner LPF bandwidth accordingly
6£®Click button hot_rst
7£®Enable auto update via Menu HiChannel/Setting/Auto Update
8£®If input RF signal is ok for reception, then indicators for XXX_ok will become green(not for sync_ok under DVB-S/DirecTV, since no frame structure presents in these two standards). Trace panel will show basic signal info. Monitor panel will show lock time, SR deviation, Carrier deviation, siganl strength/quality etc. The whole picture is demonstrated by Figure 9-7

9£®Now take any other action as you like. such as read/write registers, or AD data sampling & specturm plotting etc
Spectrum plotting can be realized via Menu HiChannel/Advance/Spectrum View. Figure 9-8 demonstrates one possible spectrum view from AD samples(using button ad_smp, signal SR equals 30Mbaud£¬sampling rates 125MHz).

FFT setting can be changed via panel on the right(FFT point number¡¢range of X-Y axis¡¢averaging number etc)
Constellation plotting can be realized via Menu HiChannel/Advance/Constellation View. Figure 9-9 demonstrates one possible constellation view from EQU out(using button ad_smp and select sampling type to equlaization out£¬signal is QPSK modulated£¬and CNR 30dB approximately)

X/Y-axis range can be changed via settings on the right to get a best-fit view
Timing Domain plotting can be achived via Menu HiChannel/Advance/TimeDomain View. Figure 9-10 demonstrates one possible time domain view from EQU out(using the sample date sets as constellation view above)

Signal value scaling & offsetting, as well as display style/color change can be done with setting on the right
