This chapter Introduction Register, Button, Indicator, Trace, Monitor, Universal Read Write, I2C Set and operation of Log
Register area shows as Figure 4-1. It contains the segment area (the top of it) and register area. Can add, modify and delete segment or register, monitor the value of the register and create a register file by button and right-click menu. The form of register in the area decided by [Bit Register] and [Word Register] in the [Setting] menu, Figure 4-1 show the form of bit register.

4.1.1 segement area
Click the combo in the segment area, it will show all segment name(and the base of it), shown as Figure 4-2, choose a segment, the registers of it will be shown in the register area. The last one in the combo is "All", means to show all registers.
Figure 4-2 Selectting segment

The "Add". "Modify", "Delete" button in the segment area can add, modify and delete the segments. "All" will always exist(that need not to add and can't be deleted). It corresponding registers of all segments.

4.1.2 Register area
Register shown as Figure 4-6, include name, offset, default and value. Default and value can be displayed by specify base. The prefix 'd', 'h' and 'b' means dec, hex and bin. When you select "All", the offset use absolute address, the registers in the table will also show by an absolute address.

Figure 4-7 Editting the value of register

Reading register in the tool means getting content of register from chip or FPGA and shows it in the table.
4.1.3 Right click menu of register area
Selecting a register in the register area, right click will show a menu, shown as Figure 4-8. When the segment is "All", the "Add","Modify","Delete" in the reght-click menu will be disabled.

All button in the Button area can set C script functions by the user. Press the button can execute the function of the C script.
Right clicking on a button will open a dialog, can set the function of the button, shown as Figure 4-10:
Figure 4-10 Button configuration

Click a button which has configured, a dialog will open if the ParamNum is not 0, input programs, multiple values separated by commas. Shown as Figure 4-11, the string in referrence is param. If there is default of param, it will show in the text.
Figure 4-11 Parameter setting

The Indicator, shown as 4-12, User can configure C script functions to indicator. The HiChannel will invoke the function periodicly, the color of indicator will be updated according the returned value.
Figure 4-12 Indicator area

Right clicking on the right string of the indicator can configure the function of the indicator, shown as Figure 4-13:
Figure 4-13 Indicator setting

Trace showed as Figure 4-14. User can configure the C script functions for trace. The HiChannel will invoke the functions periodicly, and show the returned string on the trace.
Figure 4-14 Trace area

Right clicking on the lable(not word) can configure the function, shown as Figure 4-15:
Figure 4-15 Trace setting

Monitor showed as Figure 4-16. User can configure the C script functions for every monitor. The HiChannel will call the function periodic, and show the return string in the corresponding frame or progress bar.
Figure 4-16 Monitor area

Right clicking on every monitor, can choose C script functions from combo.

Universal read write shown as Figure 4-17. The "Dec", "Hex" and "Bin" in the base means dec, hex, and bin.
Figure 4-17 Universal read write area

I2C Set shown as Figure 4-18, used to set I2C address and monitor the status of I2C.
Figure 4-18 I2C set area

The four check boxes used to choose the I2C device and address(hex).Only can select one of the four, the ones which not selected are disabled. Chip address uses to communicate with Hisilicon channel chips, large FPGA and middle FPGA usually use to debug and test FPGA, small FPGA uses to control an auxiliary function of FPGA. In the Main page can only choose one of the first three ones. In the Slave page can only use small FPGA.
The picture shows the status of I2C, show Online(green) when it normal, and shows Offline(red) when it abnormal. The HiChannel will call the function periodic, and decide wether it normal or not(the value >1 is normal). Right click on the picture, selects a C script function. Shown as Figure 4-19:
Figure 4-19 I2C set dialog

Log area shown as Figure 4-20, the result of operation in register area and informatin of operation in the button area will show in the Log area, there is a scroll bar on the right.
