1 Software summary

1.1 Function introduction:

HiChannel is a PC control software which Hisilicon network access terminal channel product, it could control the chips or FPGA which includes channel and made after 2011.

  1. Can control chips or FPGA which includes channel and made after 2011.
  2. This software can connect the device by the ethernet interface.
  3. User can quickly create the config file and a script file which match the current chip or FPGA. The config file and a script file can be loaded at any time.
  4. Button, Indicator, Trace and Monitor operation which involving specific chip is executed by C-script. Anyone of the C-scripts can be used as entrance function.
  5. Register supports both address with 1 bit, register with 1 bit (such as I2C) and address with multiple bytes, register with multiple bytes. The communication protocol of the last one will be expanded later.

1.2 Software environmental:

This sotfware supports Windows 2000, Windows XP and Window 7.

1.3 Hardware environmental:

PC, network cable, device with FPGA or device with channel product(contains Hi3716 system and the Ethernet interface). Or through change small device (subsystem of Hi3716) to achieve the transformation from an Ethernet interface to the I2C interface, then connect the I2C bus in the device.

1.4 The restriction of use:

  1. Config file must follow a specific format. Otherwise, can't be loaded or execute error. Recommend user doesn't modify the config files, only if you are know well about the format of the config file.
  2. If there is syntax error in the C-script, it may cause the script failed to load. The syntax error will be reported when we load the file.
  3. Because the C-script use internal compiler operation mode(after load successfully, the C-script will directly be compiled into executable code and executed in the code space of HiChannel), if there are operation error to the C-script(such as operating to null point), will cause some unpredictable errors, even cause the software don't work.
