The software main view shows in Figure 2-1. It contains menu and interface.
Figure 2-1 HiChannel interface

The interface includes two pages: Main and Slave, the two pages are the same, generally the Main page is used to configure the chip, the large FPGA or middle FPGA for the FPGA platform. Slave page is used to configure the small FPGA for the FPGA platform. (Small FPGA is used to solve some additional functions of FPGA). The large, middle and small FPGA of FPGA platform have device address for themselves. However, the device addresses for large and middle FPGA are unified arrangement(that is without repetition). Two pages have their independent config files.
The software interface consists of Register, Button, Indicator, Trace, Monitor, Universal Read Write, I2C Set and Log.
- Register: lies in the Register area of the interface. User can add, modify, delete segment or register, create register file and monitor the values of registers via button or right-click menu.
- Button: lies in the Button area of the interface. Pressing on the button invokes the C function that configured by user.
- Indicator: lies in the Indicator area of the interface. This software will invoke the C function periodically under the control of timer. Then the color of the indicator will be updated according to the message returned by functions.
- Trace: lies in the Trace area of the interface. The software will invoke the C functions periodically under the control of timer, then the message returned by functions will be shown on the labels of Trace area.
- Monitor: lies in the Monitor area of the interface. It includes C/N, Error Rate, Signal Intensity, Signal Quality, Lock Time, Symbol Error and Carrier Error.
- Universal Read Write: lies in the Universal Read Write area of the interface. User can read or write the value of a register with specific settings.
- I2C Set: lies in the I2C Set of the interface. User can set the address of registers, and it shows the Bus state of I2C.
- Log: lies in the Log of the interface. It shows the information of user's operation. User can save the informations to files.
